Gold Coast based alternate 4-piece powerhouse Vallies have just dropped their debut single Anchor on 26.12.19. Fans of Incubus and other emotively-driven artists will appreciate the candidly captivating nuance in their sound.

They may have sought inspiration from the surrounding hinterlands for their name, but for their sound, they went even further. Expect elements of modern stylistic Funk-Rock pouring into the Alt Rock mix through indulgently intricate guitar-led melodies. But that intrinsically human connectable element is more than reachable thanks to vocalist Barty Charles.

Vallies may be fresh from their inception. Yet, members Jay Hankey (Bass), Zian Papp (Guitar), and Tim Kasjan (Drums & Vox) had featured in Gold Coast band MNVR and had plenty of time to find their instrumental synergy before finding Barty Charles who was previously lending his deft vocals to Northern Rivers band Antimata.

After forming in August 2019 united by their passion for jarring music with instrumentals which are just as expressive as the lyrics and vocals, they got to work on their debut single. An ear-worm was born thanks at Sunnyside Sound with the help of producer Troy Borg and mastering engineer Paul Blakey (Amy Shark – Adore).

Destined not to become a one-hit-wonder, Vallies have an additional single release and an EP release in store for 2020. Anchor can now be streamed on Spotify and all other major streaming services which can be accessed via Vallies’ official website.
