Bio
Vegas Aces - comprised of 4TH and Cam Bluff are already ticking all the boxes in the natural progression to becoming one of this countries next break out hip hop acts. With the debut release VA All Day (2011) and Departure (2012) they landed them selves play on Triple J and supported one of the largest sold out tours of 2012 360’s Boys Like You Tour. Not to mention a slot on Australia’s premier hip hop festival Sprung. The only thing left to do is release a full-length project. Vegas Aces unleashed the first single “How I Feel” which was followed up with the full length “Black and Purple”. Showcasing the now more matured sound of 4TH and the bigger and better production from one of Australia’s most in demand producers Cam Bluff. The full length release shows off the diversity of Vegas Aces from up tempo intro track “Let Me Go” to laid back tracks “Say No” featuring Jackie Onassis and of course classic hip hop feel tracks album titled “Black and Purple” and lead single “How I Feel”. The hard work paid off with the release of Black and Purple reaching number 8 on the iTunes hip hop charts completely independently. With the ever-growing hype, which is, Black and Purple Vegas Aces are looking forward to a massive 2013 ahead. BOOKINGS/PRESS/GENERAL ENQURIES: Will Meehan M: 0401 881 275 E: will@redigantmusic.com
Vegas Aces are a Brisbane hip hop duo and the winners of our Sprung Festival competition. They join the Sprung lineup at The River Stage in Brisbane this Saturday the 15th October.
Tell us about your music. How did you develop your sound?
The music we have released previously on our EP 'V.A.All.Day' is very 'big' sounding. With large drums, thumping basslines and very energetic samples. We were still trying to figure out what the 'Vegas Aces' sound was ourselves in the process of making it. Moving forward into the album we are delving more into the musicality of it and trying to go for a unique sound not too far removed from our previous work, but moving in a direction that we want. All the themes are very relatable from relationships, to early twenties anxiety bullshit etc - we definitely try to channel from real life.
You are the winners of our Sprung competition and will be playing this weekend at the river stage in Brisbane - what are you hoping to gain from the experience?
We are just stoked the good people at Triple J know our name! We have played a fair amount of live shows but never a festival so I'm sure its definitely going to be a learning curve for us. We are just happy to be involved and very humbled to be added to such a stellar line up + have the opportunity to be exposed to everyone coming on the day.
What can Sprung punters expect from the Vegas Aces live show?
Lots of energy. Big sounds. Our favourite songs off the EP and showcasing what we've been working for on the album.
Tell us about the bands, producers and people in the Brisbane music community that inspire you.
We are very blessed to have a talented circle of friends with our Born Fresh crew. Butchdaddy, Tommy Ill, Seven, Mr Hill, Pure Product, Rayza, Elo and Truths etc etc. We owe a lot to The Optimen for a lot of early guidance. And also Brisbane pioneers such as DJ Katch and Lazy Grey. There are a lot of people that have paved the way that we salute! There are seriously too many people to name that do great work for Brisbane.
What’s coming up for you in the rest of 2011 and looking to 2012?
Trying to finish our album in 2011. Release the album and tour in 2012.
Australian music is…?
...evolving and growing.

Congratulations to Vegas Aces!
Review
Cam Bluff always delivers on production and 4th has really stepped it up lyrically on Black And Purple. How I Feel was a huge hit on Unearthed radio so great to hear this follow it up.
