Bio

Originally meeting each other through a countless number of gigs in old Brisbane bands, the three best pals from WALKEN soon formed a new project of their own and moved into a share house together. Comprised of Matt Cochran (Vocals/Guitar), Patrick Shipp (Guitar/Backing Vocals) and Beej Vaughan (Drums/Backing Vocals), WALKEN are a pop-fuelled frenzy of Alternative Rock, ambitious Punk and Power Pop aiming to satisfy your nostalgia-ridden heart.

By spending a steady few years supporting numerous domestic icons (like Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, Luca Brasi, Tired Lion, WAAX and more), WALKEN have cemented a niche but dedicated fan base across the East Coast of Australia and established themselves as a staple in their hometown of Brisbane.

The band have self-released multiple singles and EP's in the past, including ‘Even if It Kills Me’, ‘Eagle Eye’ & ‘Unomi’, all taken from their most recent EP ‘What’s Your Environment?’ (which was engineered & produced by long-time Violent Soho producer Bryce Moorhead).

After finishing 2019 by playing the Brisbane leg of Good Things Festival and multiple QLD dates supporting The Bennies, WALKEN dove headfirst into 2020 with an 8 date Australian Tour and the release of their single Regular Human Person.

Now fresh from touring North QLD with The Smith Street Band in March, the band is spending their time in isolation by focusing on their latest single ‘Fever Dreams’. The new track boasts some big mid-2000’s power pop energy, as if it were The Killers early work wrapped in an emo Australian blanket and is a strong sign of what's to come for the band.

i've always wanted to go to a party where people are skating in an empty pool, i think this is what would be on the stereo. nice slab of weezer in the mix too.

This has got boatloads of 90s pop punk nostalgia, my only regret is not hearing about you guys sooner.
