Bio

Western Australia’s Warning Birds have emerged with the first sounds from their forthcoming second EP, mixed by Grammy Award-winning US engineer, Trina Shoemaker (Queens of the Stone Age). The collaboration has worked to define the boldening direction of the band, proven in the compelling pop of first single, ‘Horrors’. ‘Horrors’ evokes the experimental, concept-driven music of the band’s influences; up-tempo, rhythmic melancholia in the vein of Talking Heads, and strongly atmospheric and melodic in a way that recalls Tears for Fears.

Really evocative track. Loved hearing your influences in there (because they're great) but felt the sound was uniquely yours. Thanks. It's excellent listening.

The output from Warning Birds continues to impress. Sam Carmody's a great songwriter and vocalist but this one sees the whole band shining.

This song doesn't once go where I expect it to but I love every single turn it makes. You're building quite the strike rate. Another stunning piece of music.
