The wars is a collection of impulsive but well crafted pop songs, skating happily around the edges of electronica, Aussie hip hop and folk, whilst remaining a unique entity all in itself. You can be forgiven for not having heard of The Wars (unless you've heard of the obscure German band who released music under the same name 8 years ago...). Conceived in a bedroom, mixed in another bedroom, it is, like many other traditionally conceived babies, a true bedroom experience. Melbourne based singer songwriter, Rosie Burgess always wanted to be in a pop band, but after winding up as a single parent the likelihood of touring our fair country in Lycra seemed to wither away. So one night, while her fair child was sleeping she decided to make the album of music she would have made if she'd been in that band. And out came The Wars.
