Bio

"Canberra's quintessential indie rock band" (BMA Magazine) return with another single (Charades) from their hilariously overdue second LP 'Prior Works'.

Waterford make music with guitars bass and drums. They’re the older brothers with the good record collections who take their melodic smarts and offer jangling pop in easy three minute slabs. It’s post (grad) rock. Or Smithsonian indie. The sound of one band clapping.

In 2011 Waterford released 'Say Ok', their debut LP. Arne Sjostedt of The Canberra Times said that "Waterford left me spellbound with its catchy phrases, engaging narratives and melodic hooks... this record is killer. Definitely a winner in my book".

The group have supported Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Crayon Fields, The Cannanes, Oh Mercy, Jamie Hutchings, Dave Graney The Zebras, Last Leaves, and Kim Salmon, curated stages at the You Are Here and West Bank Festivals, co-run the Electric Lake events, and played up and down the eastern seaboard more times than they care to remember. Their long overdue second album should be ready sometime before the end of the Trump administration- ideally quite soon.

Golden stuff here! What a gorgeous pop song. Feeling the Big Star sensibilities, and what a sensibility to have.
