Soon to release their debut EP, White Birds & Lemons are among rock’s most captivating young prospects. Formed in Auckland, their early songs were jammed in an abandoned amusement hall dubbed Treacle Toffee World, in homage to a ‘60s psychedelic compilation much loved by the band members. White Birds & Lemons’ first cuts were produced by Kody from angular heroes The Mint Chicks. In a Mt Eden garage, the Birds recorded their infectious blend of '70s soul, '60s psychedelia and relentless groove, crowned by Scott Franz’s distinctively emotive vocals. The next two years saw WB&L's sound evolve through a genre-bending mix of influences.
