William van der Vliet hails from the border town of Albury, New South Wales where he grew up writing songs from a young age. Following his brother’s footsteps to Melbourne, William played his debut show with his new act supporting local Melbourne band ‘The Cherry Dolls’ at the Evelyn Hotel late 2015. After playing in various bands throughout Melbourne over the past 3 years William has taken time off performing to put together his debut EP titled ‘Nostalgia’.William is set to release his debut EP in early 2016. William’s synth-heavy psych pop features his captivating strong vocal talent that weaves unique and spacey melodies through innovative tempo variations, seducing the listener into his heartfelt world. “Nostalgia” provides a beautiful and patient insight in to William’s personal life and draws on 60’s inspired psychedelic and soul influences to create a wide and expansive debut record.
