A broken nose, stolen instruments and being pursued by bottle wielding thugs – these might not be the first things you'd associate with killer guitar pop, but that was just an average night for Wires front man Ed McGuire as he cut his musicians teeth on Glasgow's pub circuit. It's no small wonder then that Ed chose the sun-burned edges of Sydney to pursue his musical love affair over the frozen outposts of Scotland. Ed travelled in Australia for a couple of years, playing on the streets and bars as a singer songwriter before figuring out that the songs he was writing were probably more suited to a band than a hard strummed acoustic guitar. He can be a little slow at times. On the look out for some like minded souls, Ed bumped into bass player Kasper Kiely at a vodka soaked xmas party. Somehow, miraculously, they exchanged numbers.
