Artist:Wolves of Rain

WOLVES OF RAIN is an upcoming group from Tasmania, recently formed in 2011. The band is based in Hobart and is the brain child of Miss Wolf Arrow Rain (singer songwriter), who has previously fronted such folk/rock bands as The Bursting Sun and The Black Swan. She also currently performs an electronic duo called Wolf Bird Radio. Wolf Arrow Rain is a prolific songwriter drawing on the influences of artists such as Leonard Cohen and Kate Bush amongst others. Her songs are more like a collection of stories. Some of these stories are born from personal experience and others are influenced by tales that she has read. The songs may be eerie, even sinister at times but they also deeply emotive. The music itself could be described as Dark Folk with overtones of traditional Irish and Gypsy music, although sometimes it borders on Country.
