Bio

THE WRATH BRING THE RIOT TO YOUR CITY - NEW SINGLE CITY RIOTS AND SINGLE TOUR MAY 2013 - It is the rare band who can stand the test of time to truly say that they have the staying power that The Wrath do. 10 years in the Business and they are still starting a riot everywhere they go. They are the mainstays of Australian punk/rock. Beginning their journey in the hazy days of the Australian music scene in 2003, they have been everywhere and have done and seen it all - now they are inciting a riot once again with their new single City Riots and heading out on tour throughout May to ensure it happens close to you! The City Riots Tour will celebrate the single and take them through Queensland and into New South Wales and see them play with legendary Punk cew, Hard-Ons for Australian Hysteria Magazine and new project for Clint Boge and Glenn Esmond, (The Butterfly Effect), The Given Things. In their tenure as one of Australia's most high-energy and well respected punk/rock acts, The Wrath have broken down barriers between genres and made music and played shows that defied genre labels and have played shows with bands with influences as diverse as punk, rock, rockabilly, hardcore and industrial. City Riots is a followup to 2012 single Pull the Trigger, a return from a break for the 5-piece horror punk/rock outfit from Gold Coast. It's a rollicking track that smacks the listener in the face, doesn't apologise, picks them up and drags them along, fist-pumping, for a hell of a rock ride! The Wrath are Tommy Creeper - a maniac on the mic - his darkwave vocals aren't just filled with passion, they are laced with old-school crooner style, the guitars of the crew are looked after by Spectre Deano and Carina Hellbunny Deluxe, and are anchored by the thumping basslines of Adam Sinz and big beats of Ryan Holz. Over the years, The Wrath have carved their own niche in the Australian music sub-culture world that has seen them gain respect from bands and audiences alike. They have shared the stage and kicked out the jams in venues with likes of The Misfits, The Meteors, Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Good Riddance, No Use For A Name, Lagwagon, Pulley and I Killed the Prom Queen just to name a few. Their reputation as a cracking live act earned them a hometown spot on the Gold Coast Big Day Out bill along side Tool, Muse, My Chemical Romance and more in 2007. "Tales of a Deadly Nightshade" was their highly lauded first release. It was produced by Alex Markwell, who manned the boards for such bands as Bodyjar and VanLustbader and mastered by Leon Zervos (INXS, Midnight Oil). A followup release will take place in early 2014, with two more singles to take place before the end of 2013. The Wrath are on tour throughout May 2013. The song will be released Friday May 10 and be available in iTunes, triple j unearthed and YouTube.
