Bio

XMPLA is the moniker of Sydney based producer Aaron James, and is quickly becoming a name that people are paying close attention to. Independently releasing his debut single ‘Make You Feel It ft. JLB’ in 2016 and featured by YouTube tastemaker Mr Suicide Sheep, the single is now sitting at a staggering 1 million collective online streams.

In 2017, Aaron entered the acclaimed YourShot DJ competition where he came runner up, but later taking out a Studio 301 competition, where he astonished the judges with his unique style and genre-bending production techniques.

XMPLA was swiftly signed by Tinted Records for a management and label deal, where he was quickly approached for remixes from label bros. Odd Mob and Animal Feelings.

Having just released his follow up single ‘Better’ via Tinted Records, XMPLA is already receiving high praise from the team at triple J Unearthed.

What the hellllll is this? The vocal stretches and skews to the point where I can't really tell whose vocal it is or how many different vocalists there are? It's manic, wild and completely unpredictable.

it's futuristic but not the out of reach type future. this has enough to drag us mere mortals along knowing we could eventually dance to this like we know what the hell is happening.

At 2.45 it went from 4 to 4 and a half stars. Clever stuff, executed superbly.
