Bio

Yasmin de Laine was born and raised in the deep south of South Australia. After a brief stint in London, she now resides in Melbourne, playing music influenced by traditional blues, old-time country and southern gothic mixed with alt-rock roots.

After fronting her solo project-turned-band Cassel for many years, Yasmin turned back to a solo, confessional approach, largely inspired by murder ballads and stories from the rural towns she grew up in.

Described as "delightfully dark, somber and brooding", Yasmin tells stories both born of truth and those of ominous figures on dusty backroads.
