Bio

On a cold Winters day in 2010 long time friends Benjamin Myer Welch & Israel W.R Cannan began writing music together in an old beach shack by the pacific ocean.

Inspired by tales of giant sea fairing vessels and old school explorer's The Young Lions would reference the novel 'Robinson Crusoe' as one the bands influences.

After just one performance the boys parted ways to fulfil life long plans of travelling the world... Almost three years and many continents later they returned home to start writing songs and preparing the sails for the next chapter in their musical voyage.

Almost four years in the making The Young Lions Debut Single 'Hello, Goodbye' which was produced by good friend Pepa Knight (Jinja Safari) and mixed by Liam Judson (Cloud Control, Tin Sparrow) tells the story of two young explorer's who set off to discover a new world and almost pay the ultimate price.

This is great. You could easily place it in that box of soaring indie-folk stuff that's dominating at the moment but this tune has a little something extra in it to make it cut through.
