Bio
Selling out their first ticketed show in Sydney and three nights at Rad Bar in Wollongong within their first year, The Zilzies have been cementing themselves as one of the hottest new talents in the country. Playing 2018’s Yours & Owls Festival in their hometown of Wollongong, the 5 piece earned the respect of many a fellow crowd pleasing act.
The Zilzies have already shared the stage with fellow Australian acts Tyne-James Organ, Client Liaison, Saskwatch, Jebediah and The VANNS. Just to name a few. This year alone, they have jumped up to support Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and joined Sons of The East on their National Tour, throughout March and April.
The group’s debut E.P. - 'Shell City', produced by Dylan Adams (Skeggs, DMA'S), was released in 2017 and has accumulated over 320,000 Spotify Streams. The 5-Track EP is loaded with stories of love and loss, told with a kind of simplistic wisdom. Boasting playful, yet intricate instrumentation front to back, ‘Shell City’ made for a thought provoking and highly danceable first release.
"Combat Monday blues every day for the rest of your life with Shell City, the charmingly optimistic debut EP from The Zilzies"- HAPPY Magazine
Last month, the band released their new single, "Come On" which was soon after played on Unearthed Radio, garnering rave reviews from both independent blogs, Home & Hosed host, Declan Byrne and Triple J Unearthed Legends, Dave Ruby Howe and Tommy Faith. The track is packed with feel good melodies/lyrics. Citing influence from; The Strokes, Courtney Barnett, Parquet Courts and The Velvet Underground.

I love what the Zilzies have done here. There's a fair amount of fun movement and change. "Sometimes I work in my day job and I realise i'm worthless. I'm just like everybody else and no body else is perfect. If i get famous then i'm living in the matrix, I don't mind". Full with great lines too. Nice one, guys!

Consider me charmed. You threatened the whole way to cut loose but there's something kinda wonderful in that you never did.
