BIGSOUND is back again for 2019! It's a three day Brisbane conference & festival in September that sees all the hottest new talent in the country come together to rub shoulders, play showcases, mingle with industry and just generally have a grouse time.

All your favourite Australian bands? Yeah, they played BIGSOUND at one stage.

This years lineup is stacked as ever, and we'll be picking a few of our faves from Unearthed to perform at our annual triple j Unearthed BIGSOUND showcase.

What's this though? Two empty spots on the Unearthed showcase lineup? Uh oh, we better invite an artist from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast to join our showcase.

Is it you? Maybe! All you've gotta do is make sure your best tracks are up on the website by July 21st and you'll be eligible!
Winners will also receive tickets to BIGSOUND, but check the full T&Cs for the scoop on those.

If your songs are pending on the website during that time, don't sweat it! We'll find you and listen to everything before we make a final decsion.

2018

Wanna play BIGSOUND in 2018?

It's a showcase of all of the best up-and-coming talent in the country: basically, if you're a great Australian band, you've played BIGSOUND. This year's lineup is full of favourites from Unearthed - and we're putting on a showcase of our favourite new acts over two nights during the festival!

We're also saving room on the lineup for two artists from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast to join our showcase. 

Think that's you? Cool! All you've gotta do is make sure your best tracks are up on the website by July 29th. 

If your songs are pending on the website during that time, don't stress out! We'll find you and listen to everything before we make a final decsion.

2017

BIGSOUND is one of the country's foremost music events, taking place each year in Brisbane's Fortitude valley. 

Part conference, part festival, it's an annual showcase of the best and brightest new musical minds in Australia. 

Each year, we handpick a bunch of acts from the massive lineup to play at our triple j Unearthed stage, and then we give you the opportunity to join them!

This year, we're looking for THREE artists from Brisbane, the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast to join the Unearthed BIGSOUND stage along with the rest of the Unearthed Stage lineup, which we'll announce soon. 

To be in the running, make sure your best tracks are up on Unearthed by the 31st of July! If your tracks are still Pending on the website when the comp closes, don't stress out. We listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a call.

2016

One of the premiere music conferences in the country, BIGSOUND has a reputation for amazing live music, insightful industry panels and some standout keynote speeches.

This year's line up is massive - dozens of the best up n comers will be taking over 15 venues in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.

As part of the festivities, triple j Unearthed is putting on a massive BIGSOUND Showcase during the conference. the triple j Unearthed stage is gonna feature sets from Sampa The Great, Tiny Little Houses, Alex Lahey, Mosquito Coast, LANKS, Tash Sultana, Middle Kids and Good Boy.

We're on the lookout for TWO acts based in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. All you've gotta do to be in the running is have your tunes up on Unearthed by July 31st! It's cool if your tracks are still pending at that time, we'll listen to everything before we make a decision.

2015

As one of the country's premiere music conferences, Bigsound has a reputation for amazing live music, standout keynote speeches, industry panels and more.

The music bill this year is massive - more than 50 bands will be taking over 14 venues in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, featuring sets from Gang of Youths, Stonefield, Holy Holy and heaps more. 

As part of the festivities, triple j Unearthed is putting on a massive Bigsound Showcase during the conference. It's gonna feature some of our favourite Australian artists who've uploaded their music to triplejunearthed.com, and we wanna put YOU on the bill! Our winners get to play the showcase alongside some of our favorite acts from Unearthed this year: Tired Lion, Holy Holy, Gordi, Ayla, Mathas, Polish Club, Baro and Crepes. You'lll also recieve band passes to Bigsound Live, and two conference passes to Bigsound this year.

2014

BIGSOUND takes over Brisbane in September each year, combining live music with panels, industry keynotes, and interviews. There's a massive party vibe - and there are heaps of bands who'll be bringing it this year.

In total, 140 acts will play across a 14 venues in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, including huge buzz bands like Bad Dreems, DMAs, Holy Holy, Remi, The Bennies and Thelma Plum, plus HEAPS more. 

triple j Unearthed will be presenting two showcases at Oh Hello featuring some of our favourite and most promising acts from right around the country and we're looking for two local acts to join the lineup! You'll also receive BIGSOUND Live passes, plus two tickets to the BIGSOUND conference.

Now in its 12th year, BIGSOUND in Brisbane is one of the most respected music conferences around, with the majority of Australia's big industry players and special international guests in attendance.

Each year BIGSOUND Live also gives punters an opportunity to be part of the action with a huge two-night music festival. This year's line-up will see Xavier Rudd, Megan Washington, The John Steel Singers, Stonefield, Bleeding Knees Club, The Jungle Giants, Spit Syndicate, Dune Rats, Clubfeet, Thelma Plum, Citizen Kay and Little Bastard among some of the 120 artists from Australia and overseas, taking over Fortitude valley between the 11-13th September in a massive celebration of Australian music.

This year we're presenting two triple j Unearthed showcases with some of our favourite and most promising acts from right around the country and we're looking for two local acts (one band to open each night) to join the lineup at Oh Hello! on the 12th and 13th of September.

Each year BIGSOUND Live also gives punters an opportunity to be part of the action with a huge two-night music festival. This year's line up has 120 of Australia's best and brightest new acts taking over Fortitude valley on Wednesday September 12th and Thursday Sept 13th in a massive celebration of Australian music.

This year we're presenting two triple j Unearthed showcases with some of our favourite and most promising acts from right around the country and we're looking for two local acts (one band to open each night) to join the lineup at Oh Hello! on the 12th and 13th of September.

BIGSOUND in Brisbane celebrates it's 10th birthday this year having grown to be one of the most respected music conferences in Australia. BIGSOUND is three days of panels, workshops and artist showcases for local, national, and international music industry representatives.

And each year BIGSOUND Live gives the punters an opportunity to be part of the action with a music festival of 50 of the country’s most exciting, new, and promising acts across two nights on September 7th and 8th.

This year triple j Unearthed will be holding a special showcase gig on Thursday 8th September featuring some of our Unearthed stars who will strut their stuff in front of local and international heavyweights. And we are looking for a local band to open the bill! You'll be playing to press, radio, festival organisers, managers, publishers, and A&R reps - the opportunity of a lifetime!
