DUE TO THE CANCELLATION OF GROOVIN THE MOO FOR 2020, WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO HOLD THIS COMPETITION. 

It's time to ditch the big smoke and grab your gumboots 'cause we're on the hunt for six artists to join regional Australia's biggest music festival. Kicking off in April, Groovin the Moo is taking it's udder-ly massive lineup around the country and if you'e from Bendigo, Townsville, Newcastle, Canberra, Adelaide or Bunbury - you could be joining them!

You read that right. You could be warming up the stage for Gang Of Youths, Hayden James, Mallrat, San Cisco and Darude?! We can't believe it either, it's a lot.

Last year, it was yergurl, FRITZ and Pinkish Blu were some of the winners and this year it could be *insert your name right freakin' here*.

All you've gotta do is make sure your track is up on Unearthed by March 15th, 2020. Just like every comp, we listen to every track uploaded (even if it's still listed as 'pending') so you won't miss out.

2019

The Groovin The Moo 2019 Lineup is molto bene, which is Italian for 'incredible', I'm pretty sure. We're talking Billie Eilish, DMA'S, Tokimonsta, Hilltop Hoods and more.

You know what though? There's one name missing from the lineup that I've seen and it's YOURS.
We wanna put you on the lineup, just like some of our previous winners Good Doogs, Moaning Lisa or West Theb.

If you reckon your band needs to be playing the Moo then upload your best jams to triple j Unearthed dot com before the competition closes on Feb 24.

We'll listen to every song that's uploaded (as usual) and then pick a winner after that. Don't sweat it if your songs are listed as 'pending' on Unearthed when the compcloses, we listen to everything before we make a decision so we'll definitely apply our ears to your track.

2018

Ok, look. You don't even know who's playing Groovin The Moo 2018 yet but let me tell you, it's a heck of a bill.

Maybe the best Groovin The Moo lineup we have ever seen?
Despite this stunning array of artists (stay tuned) we wanna make it even better by adding your band to the bill!  We're adding one ONE artist from each area the festival stops at.

Previous winners include artists like SAFIA, Heaps Good Friends and West Theb. RIGHT? If you wanna be in with a #shot, just lob your greatest tunes onto triple j Unearthed dot com before the competition closes on Feb 25.

We'll pick a winner after that and you can tell all your friends that you are a Certified Champion.

If your songs are listed as 'pending' on Unearthed when the competition closes, please shed no tears. We listen to everything before we make a decision so we'll definitely apply our ears to your track. May the odds ever be in your favour.

2017

Here's your shot to join Groovin The Moo 2017!

As we are every year, we're on the lookout for ONE artist from each area the festival stops in to chuck on the 2017 lineup.

Past winners include legends like SAFIA, Coda Conduct, and Timberwolf, and we're excited to find even more regional gems in 2017.

To be in the running this year, all you've gotta do is have your best tunes up on the Unearthed website by the time the competition closes at Midnight on February 26th, and make sure your postcode is up-to-date.

Don't freak out if your songs are "pending" on the Unearthed website when the comp closes, either: we listen to e v e r y t h i n g that gets uploaded before we pick a winner.

2016

The 2016 Groovin The Moo lineup is here, and with it comes your shot to join the massive touring festival in your hometown!  

For your shot to play alongside Alison Wonderland, The Rubens, Danny Brown and heaps of other studs, all you've gotta do is have your tunes uploaded to Unearthed by Feb 28th (and make sure your postcode is correct!). We'll pick a winner for each region. 

If you've got your tunes up by the closing date but they're still pending, don't stress! We listen to everything before we make a decision. 

2015

Regional Australia's biggest travelling festival, Groovin The Moo, returns for another killer installment in 2015, and they're taking top talent like Ball Park Music, RL Grime, Meg Mac, Charli XCX, and the Hilltop Hoods along for the ride.

Once again, triple j Unearthed will be picking one local regional act to join the line-up and open the festival in their area. And for the very first time, we’re also looking for a producer in Maitland and Bendigo to add to the GTM’s new party stage The Plot.

To be in the running you just need to upload your tracks to the site before Sunday March 22nd with either Bendigo, Townsville, Newcastle, Canberra, Adelaide or Bunbury selected as your region. It's OK if it's pending, we'll listen to everything uploaded by the due date before we decide.

2014

Heading out to regional areas right around the country this year for Groovin The Moo are a stack of touted Australian and international acts including Disclosure, Parkway Drive, Dizzee Rascal, The Jezabels, Illy, Robert Delong and this year's Hottest 100 champ Vance Joy.

And once again, triple j Unearthed will be picking one local regional act to join the line-up and open the festival in their area.

To be in the running you just need to upload your tracks to the site before Thursday 20th March with either Bendigo, Townsville, Newcastle, Canberra, Adelaide Foothills or Bunbury selected as your region. It's OK if it's pending, we'll listen to everything uploaded by the due date before we decide.

2013

GTM is back and the 2013 edition of the festival will feature sets from the likes of Tame Impala, Flume, Tegan and Sara, The Kooks, Example, The Temper Trap and Midnight Juggernauts.

Scotland's Frightened Rabbit, LA hardcore dudes The Bronx and They Might Be Giants are also on the regional festival bill.

Kicking off in Maitland on the last weekend in April, Groovin The Moo will again make stops in Canberra, Bendigo and Townsville before wrapping up in Bunbury in May.

Returning for its eighth year, GTM will stop off in Bendigo, Maitland, Townsville, Canberra and Bunbury this May.

Heading along for the ride will be a busload of local and international acts including Matt Corby, Hilltop Hoods, Public Enemy, Kaiser Chiefs and Canadian outfit City and Colour.

The lineup includes:

2011

Groovin The Moo returns in 2011 heading to regional areas most touring festivals don't visit and are bringing with them another huge line-up of local and international talent.

The acts include Architecture In Helsinki, Darwin Deez (USA), Datarock (NOR), The Drums (USA), The Go! Team (UK), House Of Pain (USA), UNKLE Live (UK), and The Wombats (UK).
