That's the plan for Listen Out this year, which spins around the country in September and October. In every city the festival stops, we're adding one act from triple j Unearthed to the lineup! 

Wanna squeeze of that good juice? All you gotta do to be in the running is be from located in one of the cities the festival is going to, and have your best tunes up on Unearthed by Sept 1. 

If your tracks are listed as Pending when the comp closes, chill. We got you! We listen to everything before we make a decision on the winner.

2018

Listen Out festival is rolling back around this September, and we're keeping a spot warm on the lineup for an Unearthed act in each city it stops in. 

If you're in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth and you wanna join a bill ft A$AP Rocky, Brockhampton, Confidence Man and more, you're in luck! 

To be in the running, just have your best tunes up on triplejunearthed.com by September 2 2018. We'll pick the winners after that. 

In addition, if you're in ADELAIDE, you have the chance to play Listen In - the Listen Out mini-fest happening on Oct 1. Same rules as above - have your best tunes up on triplejunearthed.com by September 2 2018. 

Don't stress if your songs are 'Pending' on the website either. We'll listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a decision.

2017

You jacked for Listen Out 2K17? Cool, same, it's a baller lineup ft Future, What So Not, KUČKA + more. 

As is tradition, we're looking for one act off triple j Unearthed to open the festival in each city it travels to. There'll be a winner each for Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney to follow the trail blazed by previous winners like Alice Ivy, Cosmo's Midnight, Just A Gent, Feki and WALLACE. 

Sound like you? Cool. Make sure your songs are up on Unearthed by Sept 3 2017 and that you've got your postcode up-to-date. We'll pick the winners after that.

Also -- if your songs are still "pending" on Unearthed when the competition closes, it's chill. We listen to everything that gets uploaded before we pick a winner, so don't stress out.

2016

Boasting a lineup that's packed with stacks on stacks on stacks of talent, the Listen Out Festival is set to return to Australia this September and October.

You can catch standout electronic acts like Anderson.Paark, RUFUS, JOY, Ngaiire and heaps of others as they travel to Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane later this year, and triple j Unearthed wanna put Y O U on the bill t o o.

You've just gotta be an electronic or dance artist from one of the cities the festival's headed to, and you have to have your best tunes up on Unearthed by Midnight on Sept 11. That's it! 

Oh also -- if you've uploaded your songs and they're still 'Pending' on the Unearthed site, don't freak out, ok? We listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a decision.

2015

Listen up! Here's your shot to play the Listen Out festival in 2015.

We're looking for one dance or electronic artist to open up the boutique event in each of Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, follwing in the footsteps of previous winners like UV Boi, Deja, Slumberjack, and Just A Gent.

If you're our winner, you'll get to join a lineup that already features studs like Childish Gambino, Alison Wonderland and SBTRKT in your capital city. You'll also score a $500 performance fee for your efforts.

To be in the running make sure your music is uploaded to the site by July 26! It's OK if it's still pending, we'll listen to everything before we make our decision.

2014

Boutique dance festival Listen Out has announced an impressive 2014 lineup and we're looking to add to it.

Headlined by the likes of Sydney producer Flume, Melbourne bearded bro Chet Faker, as well as Ta-ku, Shlohmo, Four Tet and rapper Schoolboy Q, it's looking like a festival that'll take care of all your electronic music needs this September and October.

triple j Unearthed and Listen Out will be giving four Unearthed producers the opportunity to join in the fun, get on the lineup, and open the festival! One dance or electronic act from NSW, WA, VIC, ACT and QLD will get to join the lineup in their capital city and get a $500 performance fee for their efforts.

To be in the running make sure your music is uploaded to the site by August 17! It's OK if it's still pending, we'll listen to everything before we make our decision.

2013

Australia's newest musical event Listen Out has launched and in it's very first year will be bringing some quality dance music to Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane.

UK bro's Disclosure, mermaid lover Azealia Banks, Yeezus co-producer Hudson Mohawke's bass-heavy crew TNGHT and house producer Duke Dumont are all set to play at the inaugural party and we're looking for four amazing producers to get out of the bedroom and join them on the line-up.
