You want in on the action? We’re warming up a spot on the lineup for one act from the Illawarra and South Coast areas of NSW.

All you gotta do to be in the running is have your best tunes up on Unearthed by September 9!

We’ve also got a spot going for an U18 act to play at the all-ages YAO festival sideshow on September 29. Same rules for that one – get ya tracks up on Unearthed by September 9.

No stress if your songs are still Pending on Unearthed when the comp closes, kapiche? We go thru and listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a call on the winner.

2017

It's a tremendous Yours and Owls lineup for 2017 - At The Drive In, Allday, The Presets, Ali Barter, Montaigne, Confidence Man and more are sitting pretty on the lineup, and that's just a handful. 

Here at triple j Unearthed, we're looking for TWO winners for this year! One will be an Under 18s winner to play at the YAO Side Show on Sept 30th, and the other will be any artist to play the festival's mainstage on Oct 1.

To be in the running, you've just gotta be from the Wollongong/South Coast/Illawarra area, and have your tracks up on Unearthed by the comp closing date. If they're still 'Pending' on the website when the comp closes, don't freak out! We listen to everything before we make a decision.

2016

The Yours and Owls festival is bringing a bunch of sick bands and ~a million high fives~ to North Wollongong Beach this October. Heading up the lineup are huge legends like Ball Park Music, Remi, Sampa The Great, Hockey Dad, the Jezebels and Big Scary, with a bunch of international acts like PUP, Bleached and Chastity Belt thrown in for good measure. 

Of course, the lineup won't be complete until we handpick ONE artist from the Illawarra and South Coast areas to join in on the festivities. If that's you, you just gotta have your best songs up on Unearthed by midnight on Sunday Sept 18th. 

As always, if your track is 'Pending' on the website when the comp closes, don't lose it. We listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a decision on the winner. Cool!

Here's your chance to play the Yours and Owls festival this year! 

For the first time ever, we're putting ONE band from the South Coast/Illawara area on the Wollongong festival's lineup. You'll be joining a pretty stacked bill - The Preatures, Cloud Control, The Smith Street Band + more are all playing - for the festival's fifth instalment this October. 

To be in the running, have your songs up on Unearthed by August 30th! If your tracks are still pending approval on the website, don't even stress: we listen to everything that gets uploaded before we make a decision.
