terms & conditions

  1. The Unearthed Artist Agreement and General Competition terms and conditions apply to this competition.
  2. This competition starts 9am AEST on Monday 4th March 2013 and closes at midnight AEST Sunday 24th March 2013.
  3. All artists from who have tracks uploaded to triplejunearthed.com during this time will be eligible to express interest and the six winners will be chosen by a panel of triple j experts. The winner will be picked based on the overall perceived potential of the band. NIDA will be responsible for assigning their choice of directors to artists.
  4. The winners will be contacted before April 5th.
  5. The prize consists of the following:
    • An opportunity to have a NIDA Post-Grad Directing student, and undergraduate students from the Design and Production courses conceive and execute a video clip.
    • NIDA will support with film equipment and location for studio shooting with a small budget as well as access to the supporting NIDA departments such as costumes and props, however any additional costs that fall outside this budget will need to be covered by the students/artists. All expenses will need to be discussed and agreed upon by NIDA, students and the artists.
  6. Filming will be undertaken for at least 2 days during the period of 22 July to 4 Aug., with pre-production occurring in the week of 15 to 21 July. Artists need to be available for a minimum two days for filming.
  7. Artists will be responsible for transport to and from meetings and filming locations.
  8. Creative concept, design, direction and editing of the clip will be undertaken in consultation with the artist/s, taking into account the artist/s existing brand, however NIDA will have complete and final creative and artistic control of the clip.
  9. Artist/s will be extended the opportunity to view the post production edits and provide feedback, however the NIDA team will have complete and final artistic control over post production.
  10. As this project is an assessable part of the NIDA students’ course, if the artist/s cannot work with the director and NIDA team in a timely and professional manner, in accordance with these terms and conditions, the prize will be withdrawn.
  11. The filmed material (student’s work) is owned by NIDA however promotional rights will be extended to Unearthed and the artist. There will be no commercial transaction for this work and the filming and production will be under the guise of the NIDA education program.
  12. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
  13. No replacement will be offered in the event that the prize cannot be claimed on the stipulated dates.
  14. In the event that the winner of the competition is under the age of 18 years, a guardian over the age of eighteen must accompany the winner at the guardian’s expense.
  15. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  16. Successful bands/artists will be covered under NIDA’s Personal Accident Insurance Cover.
  17. As a winner, you will be representing triple j at this event. As such you are obligated to behave responsibly and professionally and comply with the rules and requests that triple j and the event organisers ask of you.
