The Unearthed Artist Agreement and General Competition terms and conditions apply to this competition.
This competition starts 8am AEST on Monday 20th June 2016 and closes at midnight AEST Monday 1st August 2016.
To enter the competition, you must have created an artist profile on triplejunearthed.com and have signed the artist agreement; have at least 50% of your band currently attending high school; produce an audio recording of an original song and upload it to the Unearthed site by the closing date.
The finalists and the winner will be chosen by a panel of triple j experts.
We will be choosing one national winner.
The winner will be selected based on the quality of song writing, musicianship and the potential to benefit from a recording of a track.
The finalists will be announced on Monday 8th August 2016.

The winners will be announced in accordance with the General Terms & Conditions on Thursday 18th August 2016.

The prize consists of the following:
• triple j will visit the winning school
• Accommodation for band members and one guardian during recording
• Airfares from nearest capital city to triple j studios for band members and one guardian
• An opportunity to record, produce or remaster a track with triple j in our studios
• Professional advice from a selected artist and their management within 12 months of winning. triple j is not responsible for the advice given, and the winning artist is under no obligation to follow it.

Total prize value estimated at $5000
A winning band or artist who ordinarily resides in the city where the recording will take place is not eligible to win the Accommodation and Airfares.
The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. No replacement will be offered in the event that the prize cannot be claimed on the stipulated dates.
Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

As a winner, you will be representing triple j. As such you are obligated to behave responsibly and professionally and comply with the rules and requests that triple j ask of you.

In addition:

All Indigenous artists with tracks uploaded to triplejunearthed.com who have entered Unearthed High will also be eligible to win best Indigenous High School act and the winners will be chosen a panel of music specialists at triple j.

An Indigenous artist is any artist that satisfies the following criteria: Any artist who is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, i.e. this is defined as someone who is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, who identifies as such and is accepted as such in the communities where he or she lives, or come from. In the case of groups or duos at least 50% of the members of the group must satisfy at least one of the above criteria. triple j reserves the discretion to grant eligibility in special circumstances.

We will be picking one winner. The winner will be selected based on the quality of song writing, musicianship and the potential to benefit from professional development.

The winners will be announced in accordance with the General Terms & Conditions on August 6th 2016 at the National Indigenous Music Awards.

The prize consists of:
• Ongoing mentorship via video, phone, and email for a minimum of 6 months with an experienced manager who belongs to the Association of Artist Managers(http://www.aam.org.au/). Face to face meetings may also be organised where practicable.
• One song writing and production workshop at the winner’s school, delivered by Songmakers - the APRA AMCOS school music mentoring program (http://songmakers.com.au/). Two high-profile mentors - one songwriter/artist and one producer – will be matched with the winner by genre. Workshop to be held within 12 months of win.
