I'm not sure who asked for Australia's own version of Basement, but I'm glad they did - this is bloody brilliant. A huge step up from 2017's EP (which I adored). This is my favourite unearthed upload of 2019 so far, nice one fellas.

What's this? ANOTHER ripper tracker by Bearclaw Camp? Not surprised, tbh. Stonecoat lulls you into a sense of calm before sucker-punching you in the guts with all the best bits of punk you could muster. Love the heavy edge added to every track. Instant fan right here.

The contrast between restraint and completely unleashing the beast in those verses is so damn impressive. Nearly a year on from the release of this track and it still blows me away.

Your voice makes me wanna spin around the room with my arms outstretched. A glorious combination of Stella Donnelly and Lana Del Rey. Definitely worthy of the hype around you.

You know those nights where you're curled up on the couch with your favourite blanket and a smile on your face because you've just had the best day ever? That's what this song sounds like. It pulls you in tight and holds you close, and you really do feel okay. Thank you for this song, The Lazy Susans.

I love SCABZ almost as much as this one guy I always see at Adelaide gigs loves his denim vest with 'SCABZ' emblazoned on the back. Seriously. He wears it at every single gig I see him at. That's a whole lotta lovin'.

We see the smoother, more chilled side of WD here and I'm all for it. I've never really come across a lullaby punk song, but I think this qualifies for such a title. It's the perfect song to take a breather in before jumping around to Stuck at a live show but it's a cracker by itself, too.

What's this? ANOTHER Bec Stevens song making me cry? Unsurprising, to say the least. The emotion conveyed in every single song Bec has released is unmatched, and this is no different - the gal's an absolute talent. Bring on this new record.

That guitar twang and gentle but powerful voice immediately brought the image of a badass cowgirl walking into a saloon bar, ready to fight anyone who dares to confront her. And then the chorus came in, and the drums, and the hectic guitar part, and the punches just kept rollin' on in. Simple but effective approach. I want more.

Pub emo is absolutely the right way to describe the instrumentals on this track, but the lyrics are just so wholesome that any emo listening to this will feel like stepping outside for the first time in years and smiling up at the sun. I love this.

"Sunflowers in the front yard bloom like the garden in my blackened lungs did for you" was one of my favourite lyrics of 2018. The fuzzy guitars and gentle-then-urgent percussion paired with Cassie's passionate vocals make for a track that brings me comfort when I'm feeling lonely. Such a beautifully-written song.

A bit late to the Weighbridge hype train, but my goodness this is TIGHT. Production is great, lyrics hit hard, and damn, those riffs! Would love to see this pulled off just as well in a live setting - a Melbourne trip just might be in order soon.

Well, this has just hit me for six. An absolute TRACK - I can hardly fault it. Loving the Basement and Sleep Talk vibes, and how you've stuck with the Aussie accent in what's a traditionally Americanised genre. I really have no other words, this has just blown me away. I can't believe I haven't listened to you guys earlier. Bring on a huge 2019 for Spectral Fires.

A tight pop punk jam if I've ever heard one! Mikaila proves how much of a vocal powerhouse she is alongside the combination of both grungy and clean guitar lines here. I love how the bass isn't hidden away either, and the drum beat just makes me want to get up and dance. I will defend pop punk for as long as bands like Yours Truly exist!

A big bundle of FUN! I love the upbeat melodies and the eclectic combination of traditional instruments with technological elements, especially on the vocals. ZP is constantly creating music that is wildly different but somehow it just works - this is another example of that.
