This is a great pop song built around a simple but catchy hook. It's like the musical equivalent of a Tarantino film: the ensemble cast of instruments make short but memorable cameos, the pace is relentless, and you're going to need to sit through this more than once to completely capture everything that's going on.

Wow. Jazz meets pop meets punk meets gothic cabaret. Hugely ambitious but fortunately they have the chops to pull it off. One for the musically adventurous.

So many feels here. This song just builds and builds, with classy production setting off tingles at all the right moments. Great voice on this guy too.

So much to like about this. Great energy, killer rhythms, cool production, quirky lyrics, all held together by a strong and distinctive voice.

Wow, this lady can sing. The tones are warm and soulful, the delivery is emotive and impeccable. Kudos to the beat maker too, for a classy jazz-infused bed with just the right balance between space and ornamentation.

A great classic pop track that references 60s pop, old Western soundtracks and just a touch of mariachi.

I love this song. It's beautifully produced and delivered with an emotional intensity that's really compelling but still really authentic. True shivers down the spine stuff.

Impossible not to be completely sucked in by this one. They've put together a fantastic sound palate and crafted the arrangement beautifully: lots of colour and movement in all the right places, offset by moments of space and simplicity. Looking forward to lots more.

A wonderfully dark and atmospheric jam. Great production overlaid with a distinctive, soulful vocal.

Another quality offering from this up and comer, a rousing and emotive pop tune that showcases that powerful voice. Listen out for the Twin Peaks-esque bass line and wait for the spine tingle as the chorus hits its crescendo.

Another strong outing form this Melbourne based duo. Bianca has a huge soulful voice, putting her in the company of great singers like Amy Winehouse and Adele. But this track has an earthiness to it thanks to live instruments and a clean recording style, keeping it out of that glossy commercial terrain. Nicely done.

A gorgeous indie pop tune that's both dreamy and driving. Led by a pulsing kick drum, the song soars with Benjamin's killer vocal performance. The production is spot on, perfectly understated when it needs to be, then building to mini crescendos to give that emotional kick. Nicely done.

There's so much to like about this. Two great singers, evocative lyrics, classy production and top-shelf performances from all the musicians involved. More please.

Love the thumping percussion, the angelic vocal chorus, the top-shelf production and - most of all - the strong and confident vocal performance from Sahara Beck. Great stuff.

Wow, this is full of life and energy and colour and excitement. Grace Barbe has a killer voice and her band backs her with high octane afro funk. The guitar work here is really impressive too. Dare you not to dance to this.

Lie back and let this one wash over you. Beautiful melancholic pop delivered with a wall of sound, a la The Horrors. The brass that surfaces amongst the wash of noise right towards the end is a beautiful touch. Nicely played gentlemen.

A great rollicking tune with an anthemic vibe. I hear smatterings of early U2 guitar lines blended with Wilco-style piano chords and the in your face melodies of classic Springsteen. What's not to like about that?

I've only just stumbled across this one - but better late than never. Full of drama and longing, this song is haunted by the ghost PJ Harvey, but has the spirit of a big, sweeping Elbow tune. With beautiful expansive production and a killer vocal, this is one you'll play more than once.
