Growing up in a confined musical environment in England and being surrounded by people with limited taste meant that my knowledge in music was somewhat poor. My move to Australia saw a big difference in my musical taste; I started listening to everything from unknown rappers and experimental rockers to hardcore metal bands that have never before come under my radar. My move to the country also brought forward new ways in which I approached music. Rather then just waiting for music, go and get it!

I had a lot of fun listening to this track. The beats are tight and I can't help bopping my head along - that piano break is great too. The variety in each voice adds different levels which really add to the overall dynamic. Plus, there's depth and thought behind the lyrics. Great Track.

My issue with this track is that it is incredibly blunt - there's no subtlety and it becomes quite a turn off. Bands like Birds of Tokyo, U2 and Coldplay (all acts that have been listed as influences) have been known to create music that leaves little to the imagination, particularly in more recent years but there are still examples in each body of work whereby the lyrics aren't as direct. For the record, lyrics don't need to make sense all the time, look at a band such as Radiohead for example. The biggest asset the aforementioned have is they know how to craft a hook incredibly well. Furthermore, they have vocalists with quite powerful or unique voices and are able to carry a song in particular areas. Lyrically, this track becomes boring very quickly and the climax (which should have possibly been spearheaded moreso by the band) is hindered, simply for the fact that the voice is not powerful enough. On the plus side, I really enjoyed other aspects of the track - the musical structure was quite good, the drums were really good fun and I've always been a sucker for an act who allows extended piano periods. I would suggest focusing on these strengths, rather then a weak vocal performance.
