This takes me back to the 80s, but remains super fresh and contemporary in sound somehow. Nostalgic mood married with a future-forward vision... catchy AF.

Ooft! This is fire. Such a good combination/dichotomy struck between political rap verses and smooth, hook-laden, melodious chorus... it's fine indeed.

Super strong songwriting. Really solid musicality, a driving melody that doesn't require fussy production but has some sweet guitar groundwork in any case - really love it, Hope.

Upbeat and pretty, polished production, with sweet harmonies and backing vocals - I can hear it on a teens-coming-of-age TV show soundtrack.

Strong track from a small town NSW darling, I'm Fine tells of Tiarnie's transition to the city and adulthood (trying to eat and drink well but takeaway containers getting the better of her). An authentic voice, a catchy rhythmic drive. I really like this, and want to hear more of this on triple j.

Jangly, dreamy jungle-pop sound. I like this for Summer, particularly a cool overcast Melbourne Summer day such as this one.

This. Is one of my favourites of Francesca Gonzales... who I discovered with delight on the weekend at Benalla's micro-festival Happy Wanderer. What a vocal powerhouse, and some really pretty melodic hooks in tracks like this and Make My Life.

This could legit be from the 90s. Some blissful melting pot creation of Nirvana, Bush, Everclear, continue naming 90s alt-rock bands from your own memory bank... I really, really like this.

I knew I would probably like this. Kingsmill gave it big ups, and the title is schweet. Sound is polished, vocals are flawless. There's a lilting swagger to it that is in no rush but in total control. And then the belting bridge/finale seals the deal.

Gurrl, you have some powerful pipes! This is different to most things playing on the radio right now, and that is reason enough to give it props. I love the raw musical elements of guitar, drums and vocals. Keep doing this - and thanks for sharing.

OOFT! This is a smoking track Indy. SuperUser Pip Rasmussen said it best when she said she's 'swooning'. Girl, me too. This is moody, with layered harmonies, a simple but effective key chord progression - and it builds. It goes somewhere. Thank you *prayer hand emoji*.

I really, really like this - it's sweeping dusty plains and wistful reflection while driving on wide roads. I love the twang of the guitar and the cry of the strings. Has this been receiving airplay? I hope this has been receiving airplay.

Wow*. This is magic - it manages to be both a hard-hitting anti-rape feminist message and sweetly irresistibly melodic. It soars into the chorus line, and sends chills up the spine. "Why was she all alone, wearing her shirt that low?" is a damn powerful lyrical moment.

*I know I'm late to the Stella Donnelly party - can only apologise and thank goodness I got here eventual...

Driving sound, twangy electric gee-tar, echoed and layered vocal line lends that upbeat euphoria (must be cos it tricks us into thinking it's a singalong, which is always feel-good)...
