Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer/Songwriter & Producer Nicko Bird. From Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast, Australia. Going by the stage name Soul Stone with his full band. Nicko comes from quite the colourful background and expresses his 'heart-on-his-sleeve' way of life through his warm harmonious reggae music and good vibes. Playing drums from the young age of 5 from a heavy musical influence of his fathers talents and having a deep passion for music, he dabbled in other instruments such as Guitar, Keys, Bass, Percussion & also took a liking to Sound Engineering/Production and began writing and recording Folk/Ballard songs at the age of 15. Being a big fan of reggae giants Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, UB40 & Ernest Ranglin, Nicko followed his deep-seeded love for reggae-roots and started writing, recording & producing his first reggae album in 2014. Which is still in production. Working tirelessly in the studio tracking his original tunes and having talents from other accomplished musicians play on his album such as PAUA, Clocks & Dice, Dreamboogie, Josephs Coat, Wasabi & more, Soul Stone hope to be releasing a new single in the coming month of May and followed by a full 12 track album in 2017. Nicko has played in an array of different bands such as; Fingerprint, Wasabi, Clocks & Dice, Rawfish, Kaha, Kev Starkey, Pat Tierney, Hammer & The Goon, Clarence Kings, Siobhan Corcoran and currently playing in Mid North Coast outfits: Ebb N Flo (Lead guitar/backing vocals). Josephs Coat (Drums/backing vocals). Soul Stone (Lead vocals/rhythm guitar). In 2012, Soul Stone was born. After recording some pre-production ideas with Oceanway Productions owned by producer/engineer Martin Van Valuwen in his home studio in Moonee NSW, Nicko took his material to Grafton NCI Music studio facility to kick off recording. First single coming your way in May 2016 is a track called 'Sweet Irie Spell'. Keep your ears peeled. Peace, love & unity.
