Unearthed Listeners I'm following:

GG is a pop artist who grew up on the borders of a national park, the Australian folk festival circuit and a circus school. GG’s music mixes high-energy production with themes of loneliness and distance. With tongue-in-cheek playfulness and determination, GG creates sonic collages with her lush, layered tracks, using clarinets, guitars and electronics. Her music draws inspiration from Christine and the Queens, Laura Jean, Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Mallrat, The 1975 and Grimes. GG is a self-taught musical handywoman. Her training in theatre, circus, photography and video infuses her music with experimental and cinematic dimensions. She collaborates with dancers, filmmakers, costume-makers and other musicians to use her pop songs as a vector to stretch the bounds of expression. Her live shows mash video, costume and dance together create a physical and interactive sensory experience. GG has been making music since before she could talk. She started writing songs at seven and performed through high school with her punk band. At university she performed solo acoustic folk, and when she moved to Melbourne after graduating she started experimenting with electric guitars and digital audio workstations. In 2014 she relocated to Berlin, where she picked up the pace on her music projects, formed a band and toured Australia in 2017. Her Australian sound became increasingly influenced by the city’s techno/electronic music scene and colour. Her first EP ‘Show Me’ was released in 2017, followed by a 10-date Australian tour. In 2017 she began collaborating with Dublin-born, Berlin-based producer CROOK to pursue more energetic pop music reflective of her energy and potential. This partnership resulted in the release of the single ‘Luxury’ in December that year. GG’s sophomore EP, ‘Midsummer Colour’ was recorded in the iconic Funkhaus studios in Berlin and is due for release on February 7th, 2020. facebook.com/ggmakesmusic instagram.com/ggmakesmusic ggmakesmusic.bandcamp.com
