Client Liaison are masters of infectious turn-of-the-nineties synth pop and are one of the winners of our Laneway Festival competition. The duo will be opening the Moreland St Stage of the Melbourne Laneway Festival this Saturday, Feb 1.
Tell us about your music - how did you develop your sound?
Informed by the production values of the late 80's and early 90's, we align ourselves with the effervescent sound of early digital synthesizers. We grew up on the music television of this era. Linking sound and image is a very important process for us.
You’re one of the winners of our Laneway competition. What can the crowd at Laneway in Melbourne expect from the Client Liaison live show?
Lights, music, dance, smoke machines; basically an 11am dance party.
How and when did you two meet?
Glamorgan Primary school in the late 1990's.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given and who was it from?
'For the best long lasting result, use a Tasmanian Huon pine when building or renovating your outdoor deck', Shirley Strachan via the 'Our House' TV series 1993 - 1999.
What are your plans for Client Liaison in 2014?
Continue our efforts amongst the diplomatic cocktail circuit, produce more videos and release an album mid year.
