Tell us about your music. How did you develop your sound?

I would like to say my music is a progressive sound for hip hop in Australia. Its really important to me to try and be unique where I can so I practice just being myself. Believe it or not, just trying to be yourself and not influenced by others takes a lot of practice!

What's your greatest source of inspiration for making music?

Real life, experiences past and present and hearing NEW ground breaking music that can't be labeled by one genre.

What can punters expect from your live show at Listen Out?

Without giving too much away, early arvo sweating, energy and you will definitely leave having got to know the random person next to you!

What's the best advice you've been given and who was it from?

"Creatives that tend to do exceptionally well don't try to follow the trends of whats going on in the world, they set the trends by bringing the people into their own world" - Dumi Oburota.

What Australian track would you play to cheer up someone who was crying?

The Preatures - Is This How You Feel.

What Australian track would you play to someone to make them cry?

John Farnham - You're The Voice.

You're the DJ at a party. The dance floor is pumping. What local tune do you put on next?

Tuka - Yeah Right.

What was the last local gig you went to? How was it?

Hau at Gingers in Sydney. Was a really cool intimate crowd, with a dope support by Yum Yum.

Tell us about the bands or people in the Sydney music community that inspire you.

There are so many varieties and qualities now days in the Sydney scene that I admire. Im a big fan of acts like Spit Syndicate who been holding the Sydney rap scene down for a minute and still continue to grow their brand as musos and as a business. On the opposite side you got acts like Kerser who just do their own thing online, appeal to their own fans and have such a cult following and are able to provide a living for themselves and their team by not having to rely on mainstream vehicles of distribution.

What are your plans for the rest of 2015?

Get my ass on the road and play shows around the country while finishing my debut album!

Tell us about your music. How did you develop your sound?
My music is always evolving, you have to be adaptable if you have plans to stay relevant for years and years. I always try to keep my influences living in my music (even though you can't exactly tell where I'm drawing the inspiration from or what artist I'm channelling at the time). I like to keep an emphasis on slick wordplay and delivery no matter what I'm making, so you can always find that in my music, even though it's much more than that.

What’s your greatest source of inspiration for making music?
The usual things that inspire other creatives. Things I've experienced, other music, the way a certain design looks, the way different colours look next to each other, the way a certain soundscape is. Even the things that are "trending" - but sort of stepping back from that and analysing why something is popular and pushing people to unlock what we all have to begin with- that they can create greatness too.

What can punters expect from your live show?
A little bit of everything, I make the music for people to listen to what I'm saying, so I let it speak for itself on stage. I'll change my hype levels according to the songs being played, so everyone can go through the experience with me. I think if people go to watch me, they'll be happy they did haha.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given and who was it from?
Anything that comes out of Sensible J's mouth.

What Australian track would you play to cheer up someone who was crying?
"Liona" - Nasty Mars. Check it here!

What Australian track would you play to someone to make them cry?
"Take U 2 Da Moviez" - Bangz

You’re the DJ at a party. The dance floor is pumping. What Australian track do you put on next?
"Ignore" - Alison Wonderland with Baro

What was the last local gig you went to? How was it?
haha It was actually one 90'sRD (our collective if you don't know) was playing at. It was a crazy night! We supported Remi at the Northcote Social. It went down! Ended up on stage with Rem', Hau, N'fa, One Sixth and Baro for a live cypher! 1/6 is one of my favourite rappers too so that was an amazing night for me.

Tell us about the bands or people in the Melbourne music community that inspire you.
My friends mainly. Baro, Charlie Threads, Yobi Masenqo, Mose`, Te Waere, KushDaddySlavens, Nasty Mars, Sol' Manic. We push each other to be the best we can be.

What are your plans for the rest of 2015?
After Splendour and supporting Baro's tour, I'll be commencing my next project, probably an EP. I'm keen to just keep building.
