Although our particular sound is hard to pin down, the Humble Bees and I like to think of the music we play in the terms of blended families. The relationships between the songs may be complex but our hard work and care for the songs have helped to develop a certain flow that allows the listeners to experience our range. Sometimes furtive, sometimes lovely, definitely angry but certainly soulful; there are a bunch of words that describe what we do and how it sounds. I would prefer for you to listen or watch us and develop your own understanding of what Jay Wol Johnson and the Humble Bees has to offer than for me to poorly explain what this is to me. We do things better live, because we are alive. Band is good. We have no money; we have fun. But most importantly, we are just trying to be humble.
