Lilly is from Perth, Western Australia, her love for music began at a young age, with her first public performance being at age 5. In 2002 Lilly auditioned for ACPA, The Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts in Brisbane QLD. With a successful audition, she went on to graduate with a Certificate 4 in Performing Arts, majoring in singing. After studying in Brisbane for a year Lilly went back to Perth and recorded her first demo song, which won the 2003 MUSIC OZ Award for Best Aboriginal/TSI Song. In 2006 she moved back to Perth to continue developing her musical skills, she attended Abmusic in Perth WA, where she graduated in 2007 with a Certificate 4 in Music. Since graduating from Abmusic Lilly has gone on to work with some very talented musicians and bands in and around WA. Lilly has toured remote and regional Australia with the ‘Deadly Award’ winning Band ‘The Yabu Band’ and continues to do vocals for the band. Lilly was a founding member of ‘The Merindas’, who received a ‘Deadly’ nominee in 2013 for ‘Most Promising New Act’. Whilst singing for the above bands, she was blessed to support, Christine Anu, Casey Donavan and Troy Cassar Daly. In 2014 she was chosen to represent Australia at The World Championship of Performing Arts, in Hollywood and came home with bronze medals for her original and country song performances. Lilly has performed at major festivals including the Darwin Festival, Perth Blues and Roots, Australia Day Events, NAIDOC Celebrations, Oz AID at the Canberra Museum. AFL Indigenous Round, Oz Concert and also corporate and club gigs. Lilly has recorded a 5 track EP and is currently working towards recording her first album. Here is a list of my achievements in composing and song writing; 2003- MUSICOZ, Australian Independent Music Awards, Aboriginal Category Award Winner for original track, ‘Just Let Go’ written and composed by Lilly Gogos. 2003/04- Finalist, for the Telstra Road to Tamworth. 2008 – Co-wrote the song ‘Desert Feet’, which featured on the (WAMI) Western Australian Music Industry Compilation Album. 2008 till present - Lilly has had a number of her original tracks, featured on NITV Music Shows, ‘Chocolate Martini’ and’ Volumz’ 2009- Original Track featured on ‘The Desert Sand Tracks’ DVD, which was part of the WA Country Arts Tour, ‘Sand Tracks’ with The Yabu Band and Moana Dreaming as their support act. 2009- Lilly was a Finalist in the Professional Development Awards APRA for 2 of her original tracks. 2013 Lilly was a finalist in 4 categories at the MUSICOZ Awards, Australia s Independent Music Awards. Her songs were finalists in the following 4 categories; Pop/Urban/Gospel/Acoustic & Singer Songwriter 2014 Attended, The World Championship Of Performing Arts, in Hollywood. Lillywon bronze for, her ‘original song,’ ‘Here I am’ written and composed by herself. Additional Achievements in Performing Arts 2002- Cert4 in Performing Arts, Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts QLD 2007- Cert4 in Music Abmusic 2009/2010 Toured nationally regionally and metro areas with ‘The Yabu Band’. 2013 Nominated for a Deadly Award with ‘The Merindas’ for ‘Most promising new Act’.
