WA-based trouvere Emjay Angeni is no stranger to experimentation and reinvention. Overtures of laid-back reggae broadcast elements of her still-strong Kiwi roots, which over time have been inflected by the soft, storied-style of Australian Folk and an ongoing affinity with Jazz , Blues and World Music. A Jazz School drop-out, who once fronted an NZ Indie-Pop-Punk band and has featured as a soloist and backing vocalist with varied South West acts, Emjay has had the pleasure of supporting a diverse array of major artists spanning NZ's Sola Rosa, The Mint Chicks and The Checks and independent Aussie favourites Band of Frequencies and Blue Child Collective. Fresh off a 10 month tour of Australia and New Zealand as special guest of WA fluid groove act Blue Child Collective, Emjay is unveiling her catalogue of original material to the world as a solo artist for the first time in 2018. Having been a keen scribe of poetry and songs since the green age of seven, this artistic emergence is one of timely realisation. Set to record her debut EP “Dreamtime Arrows” later this year and with her sights set on a full summer of gigs and festivals in 2019, this 5’2” giant has a fire in her belly and a smile on her lips –ready to melt hearts and capture imaginations worldwide with her unique, soulful blend of light, conscious storytelling.

I have been dancing to this song on repeat all afternoon, I love it! Great horn section and I love that funky guitar! More like this please!

Mmm, this laid-back groove does it for me! I'm picturing sipping a cocktail on a dance-floor overlooking the Med somewhere... Love it!
