Otto Lastname is the musical frequency that lives inside a small bedroom and whatever instruments it can find. Striving for the middle ground between whatever high school surf rock band he saw last week at an open mic and the psych pop dream of Tame Impala, Otto knows the vibes he wants to hit with his tunes. Otto takes inspiration from a dynamic set of artists emulating Unknown Mortal Orchestra, MGMT, and Ruby Fields. His visual style derives from the surreality of an 80s music video and the spice of a Wes Anderson film. Otto’s music explores genre fluidity, playing with conventions of indie/psych Pop. His live sets are pulled together through a loop pedal, composing the song live in a responsive sonic creative process to create a deep, immersive, and ambient experience for the listener. Otto is an experienced performer,a seasoned creative, and an active part of the Adelaide music scene.

This song carries a ton of energy the whole way through. The unspoken knowledge that the last chourus slaps is what really keeps the song going. It’s really well written lyrically which you can put down to Ruby’s ties with poetry, although it’s form and structure isn’t super creative.
Fucking love the song. Highly recc

It’s a super enchanting song, and one I’ll be spinning all year. I’m super fond of the crispy vocals which have a on of emotion and passion in them, which is super rare to find.
Honestly if I was to keep reviewing it would just be praising the vocals but it really is a band to watch out for
