Step-Panther play garage surf punk, straight from the heart. We've picked them to open Sunday's proceedings at Come Together!
Tell us about your music – how do you develop your sound?
We are a three piece so I think that makes it easier for us to make music. Everything sort of sits where it needs to. I wouldn't say we 'develop' our sound to any great degree. We aren't particularly fanatical about our song-writing, it all happens fairly naturally. We just play around until it starts to, mmm, feel right. Our songs aren't exactly complex, but we like to enjoy ourselves. So having that room works for us, especially in a live setting.
What can the Come Together Audience expect from your live show?
Well you can except us to be having a good time. I'm not sure if people will be drinking by the time we're playing but we will be. So the atmosphere will be good natured and relaxed. But don't think that means we wont rock. We are all well trained and can rock even in the deepest of comas. Some say even better. If you want your day to be a good one then come see us, we'll set you up.
Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Come Together?
Deep Sea Arcade are really cool so we're looking forward to catching them. We also played with Parades recently and they are well worth checking out.
What’s coming up in the future?
At the moment we're playing alot of shows, come check one out. We have a Step-Panther showcase coming up in july which we're all pretty excited about. It's going to be alot of fun, at Oxford Art Factory, keep your eye out. Just the one. Beyond that we have new material we want to do something with, so prepare yourselves.
